From the M6. Leave the M6 at J41 – going East on the B3505, at the roundabout take the A6 North towards Carlisle - In Plumpton turn Right for Lazonby and Kirkoswald - B6413, through Lazonby and over the Eden Bridge – Take the first Right signed Glassonby. Do NOT go left into the village of Kirkoswald. Mains Farm is on the Right - just under 1 mile from this junction. The rally field entrance is 100 mts past the farm on the right. If you have booked into the “Riverside” for electric,or rented a Pod, pull into the Farm.
Flying info: Briefing 04:00 hrs with Sunrise at 04:40hrs.

Launch at first light, fly as far as you can but be back in time for breakfast. Sounds simple but is more testing than it sounds.

You must be back by 08:30 to win.

Breakfast for all competitors and club members from 09:00.

Booking is not essential if you are just camping but if you let Derek G know you will be put on a messaging list, met briefings will be available but all flying is at Pilots discretion.

Re-fuelling: No propane is being provided.

Trophy awarded to the pilot flying the longest distance AND returning to the Launch Field, with crew and balloon, by 08:30 hrs.

Plus Cross-Pennine Competitions.

Accommodation: Camping on the rally field on Friday & Saturday will be at the club subsidized rate.

We have a very large field leading down to the River Eden, the site has good toilet facilities, with bunkhouses and camping pods to hire, and on the “Riverside”, some sites with electric hook-ups @ £20.00*/unit/night, (first come first served).

Pods are £40.00* per night and sleep 3 Adults or 2 Adults + 2 children Bunk houses (2) sleep 6 and need a minimum of 3 people @ £15.00*/head/night, (must be good friends). IMPORTANT:- book these directly with Robert & Julie Pickthall either by phone or on the their web site.
